Roads Civil Drafter

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Roads Drafter to join its Transport team in Western Australia. You will support major road, highway and transport infrastructure projects, delivering high‑quality design documentation from concept through to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed road and highway design drawings – alignments, long sections, cross sections, drainage layouts and pavement details in line with MRWA standards and Austroads guidelines.
• Produce and manage 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Assist in creating design documentation packages for tender and construction, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (drainage, structures, traffic, utilities) to integrate design elements.
• Support design reviews, model audits and drawing checks to maintain high‑quality deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Civil/Roads Drafter on WA road or highway projects, preferably with MRWA standards.
• TAFE qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering Design or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Understanding of road geometry, drainage and earthworks modelling.
• Experience producing detailed design and construction drawings for infrastructure projects.
