Roads and Highways Leader

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced leader to drive the growth, performance and delivery of its Roads & Highways portfolio in Queensland. Based in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast, you will join the QLD leadership team and connect local delivery with global expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the growth, performance and delivery of the Roads & Highways portfolio across Queensland.
• Strengthen and expand relationships with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and key partners.
• Develop and execute market strategies aligned with regional and national priorities.
• Provide values‑led leadership and drive collaboration across disciplines.
• Ensure successful delivery of complex transport programmes across various delivery frameworks.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing, engaged team.

Required profile

• Strategic, client‑focused leader with deep experience in the Queensland transport market.
• Proven track record of delivering major roads and highways projects in Queensland.
• Established relationships with TMR and/or local government.
• Experience growing client relationships and winning work.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.

Required skills

• Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• RPEQ, Chartered or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Technical expertise in roads and highways engineering.
