Retail Trainer - Total Tools

About the role

Total Tools, part of Metcash, is looking for a Retail Trainer to support store teams across South Australia and Western Australia. The role combines face-to-face workshops, virtual training and in-store coaching so that team members can deliver great customer experiences, give trusted advice and turn product knowledge into sales. It is a hands-on position with regular travel between the two states, spending equal time in each.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging face-to-face and virtual training across the store network in SA and WA
• Coach team members on the shop floor to improve customer service, sales skills and product confidence
• Create practical, engaging training programs and learning resources
• Partner with store leaders to identify capability gaps and drive development initiatives
• Support new team member onboarding and ongoing skills development
• Build strong relationships across the store network and provide ongoing coaching and support

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering retail training programs
• Strong coaching and facilitation skills that drive behaviour change
• Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams
• Ability to influence, engage and inspire a wide range of audiences
• Understanding of retail, customer service and sales principles
• Self-motivated and comfortable travelling across SA and WA
• Product knowledge in hardware or tools is beneficial; training and coaching experience is highly regarded
