Residential Support Worker - FDV Refuge

About the role

MercyCare is hiring a Residential Support Worker for its FDV Refuge in Broome. The role helps create safe, welcoming and supportive environments where women can access the care and support they need. You will provide practical and emotional support, build connection and consistency, and empower women as they work towards safety, healing and rebuilding their lives. The roster includes shifts across mornings, afternoons and overnight.

Required profile

• Located in Broome; caring, calm and resilient, able to build respectful relationships and stay grounded when things do not go to plan.
• Ability to work sensitively with women and children experiencing trauma, vulnerability or complex needs.
• Experience supporting people experiencing trauma, FDV or complex needs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred practice.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent (desirable).
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Current driver's licence.
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months.
