Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Reliability Engineer to join the maintenance team at Capcoal Surface Operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Planning & Engineering Superintendent, you will be the site’s lead specialist for reliability, asset health and maintenance strategy across our draglines, shovels and excavators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of condition monitoring programs to increase asset health visibility.
• Embed and maintain structural integrity strategies across all field assets.
• Drive defect reporting, action management and elimination to prevent recurrence.
• Analyse performance of draglines, shovels and excavators, identify trends and optimise reliability.
• Develop and maintain reliability and maintenance dashboards providing clear insights into asset performance.
• Support root‑cause analysis and defect‑elimination initiatives.
• Partner with engineering teams and OEMs to investigate failures and refine service strategies.
• Align preventive maintenance tasks and job cards with intended maintenance strategy and standards.
• Lead strategy and maintenance tactic reviews to ensure up‑to‑date lifecycle plans for critical assets.
• Champion continuous‑improvement initiatives within maintenance and engineering.

Required profile

• Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications and/or a tertiary qualification in Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Condition Monitoring or Asset Management.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Reliability Engineer.
• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance for draglines, shovels and excavators.
• Proven capability in maintenance systems, failure analysis and asset‑health program development.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP is desirable.
