Registered Nurse – Cancer & Advanced Therapeutics Inpatient Unit

About the role

The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network is seeking enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the Cancer & Advanced Therapeutics Inpatient Unit in Westmead. You will provide high‑quality care to children and young people receiving cutting‑edge oncology, haematology and advanced therapeutic treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, stem‑cell transplantation, cellular and immunotherapies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists and allied health professionals.
• Monitor patient responses, manage side‑effects, and ensure safe administration of complex therapies.
• Document clinical observations and contribute to care plans.
• Participate in education, research and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse in Australia.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, acute paediatric environment.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to families.
• Willingness to undertake the Transition to Paediatric Practice Program if new to paediatrics.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and monitoring of oncology/haematology patients.
• Administration of advanced therapeutic agents.
• Use of electronic medical record systems for documentation.
