Referral Vet Nurse – Medicine, Oncology, Neurology

About the role

Join Greencross Vet Hospital (GVH) in Werribee as a Referral Veterinary Nurse working across Internal Medicine, Neurology and Oncology. You will support complex cases, advanced diagnostics and treatments while mentoring veterinary students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care for patients with complex medical and neurological conditions.
• Assist with advanced diagnostics, procedures and treatments, including venepuncture, IV catheterisation and anaesthesia monitoring.
• Manage patient admissions, hospitalisation, monitoring and discharge.
• Collaborate closely with specialists, veterinarians and the multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate compassionately with clients throughout the treatment journey.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent (essential).
• Minimum 2 years veterinary nursing experience; referral or specialist experience preferred.
• Strong technical nursing and patient care skills.
• Interest or experience in Internal Medicine, Neurology or Oncology.
• Passion for learning, teaching and mentoring.
