Recruitment Officer – Fixed‑Term (Government)

About the role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) is seeking a Recruitment Officer to join its award‑winning Recruitment Services team. This fixed‑term position (until 30 June 2027) supports both high‑volume and specialised hiring for frontline and corporate roles across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end selection processes for volume and non‑volume positions, including advertising, screening, interview scheduling and assessment centre coordination.
• Maintain candidate communication and care throughout the recruitment journey.
• Oversee onboarding activities to ensure new hires are ready for critical frontline and corporate duties.
• Collaborate with Recruitment Advisers to design and deliver recruitment campaigns and handle related administrative tasks.
• Conduct security checks and ensure compliance with departmental recruitment policies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work across all stages of the recruitment lifecycle.
• Experience supporting diverse candidate pools and applying best‑practice recruitment methodologies.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders and external candidates.

Required skills

• Knowledge of recruitment best practices and psychometric assessment tools.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting related to recruitment metrics.
• Research and training capabilities in talent acquisition.
