Recruitment Consultant – Federal Government & Technology

About the role

The Network, part of Sovereign Capability Group, is expanding its specialist Technology and Defence recruitment practice in Canberra. This role is ideal for an experienced recruiter looking to shape a growing business at the intersection of Defence, national security, technology and government.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of Federal Government clients, leveraging existing relationships and proactive business development.
• Manage permanent and contract recruitment engagements across seniority levels in Cyber Security, Data & AI, Cloud & Infrastructure, and Project Services.
• Build and maintain high‑quality candidate networks for both permanent and contract markets.
• Guide clients through workforce planning, skill requirements and hiring priorities.
• Own the full recruitment lifecycle from qualification to offer, placement and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline and account information.

Required profile

• Proven experience in recruitment, account management or business development, preferably within Federal Government, Technology or Professional Services.
• Strong communication skills with confidence engaging technical and senior business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build long‑term client and candidate relationships.
• Commercial discipline with a focus on activity, pipeline and revenue outcomes.
• Proactive, consultative approach to business development and strong organisational skills.
