Quantitative Analyst - Commodities and Global Markets

About the role

Macquarie is hiring a Quantitative Analyst in its Commodities and Global Markets business, based in Sydney. You will join the Quantitative Strategy team and apply specialist methods from mathematics, science and engineering as part of a global front office team aligned to revenue generation. The team works on data, models and algorithms applied to derivative valuation and risk, automated trading and data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Help formulate business ideas mathematically and deliver practical solutions
• Research and implement financial models for product valuation, risk analysis and trading
• Build strong relationships across the business by providing quantitative expertise to traders, as well as the technology and compliance teams

Required profile

• PhD-level qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics or Engineering
• Self-motivated with a sense of intellectual curiosity
• Demonstrable interest in finance

Required skills

• C++ or Python programming experience is advantageous
