Quality Analyst - Automation

About the role

Medibank is looking for a Quality Analyst - Automation to join its Platform Engineering team in Docklands. You will help build robust digital experiences across mobile and web platforms, champion modern testing practices, drive automation within CI/CD pipelines and work closely with developers, analysts and delivery squads in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with developers and business analysts early so acceptance criteria are clear, measurable and testable.
• Align backlog items with quality standards and identify risks, dependencies and coverage gaps.
• Champion shift-left testing and embed quality thinking into solution design.
• Run automated and exploratory manual testing to strengthen test coverage.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Use metrics and reporting to share quality trends, automation progress and release readiness.
• Troubleshoot automation issues through root cause analysis.
• Mentor team members on test automation best practices, tools and frameworks.

Required profile

• 5+ years testing mobile apps, web applications and APIs.
• 3+ years in Agile environments using BDD practices.
• Experience validating APIs, microservices and system integrations.
• Strong programming in at least one language (Java, TypeScript, Kotlin or Swift).

Required skills

• Knowledge of iOS, Android, mobile technologies and native/hybrid apps.
• Automation with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium and Postman.
• CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests into builds and releases.
• Test management with X-Ray (JIRA); mobile automation with Appium and BrowserStack; web automation with Playwright.
• Cucumber JVM, TestNG, Maven, GitHub and Jenkins.
