Publication Developer – Defence Contract (Canberra/Remote)

About the role

The Defence sector is seeking a Publication Developer on a 12‑month contract (with a possible extension) to support doctrine authoring. The position can be based in Canberra ACT or worked remotely, starting around 16 July 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Doctrine Management Plan (DMP) in line with the Australian Defence Force Doctrine Handbook.
• Produce and release doctrine publications within agreed timelines.
• Act as Assistant Publication Developer, serving as an alternate point of contact for assigned publications and supporting doctrinal reviews.
• Manage publication progression to avoid conflicts, ensure work‑health‑and‑safety compliance, and apply principles‑based decision making.
• Optimize resource utilisation throughout the publication lifecycle.

Required profile

• Hold an AGSVA security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience within the defence environment.
• Proven background performing publication developer duties.
• Ability to share knowledge, foster organisational learning, and support contributions from others.
