Project Manager

About the role

BAE Systems Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead small to medium‑scale defence projects. You will coordinate stakeholders, sub‑contractors and internal teams to deliver outcomes on time, within budget and to required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver project work following BAE Systems Australia’s Project Management policies and Operational Framework.
• Foster a collaborative culture among customers, sub‑contractors, suppliers and the project team.
• Document project requirements and objectives in a business case or brief and pursue them vigorously.
• Establish key success indicators and balance scope, quality, time and cost.
• Ensure delivered products comply with the Product Safety Policy and achieve customer satisfaction.
• Complete all closure and wrap‑up activities, including lessons learned.
• Identify and implement Value for Money initiatives to improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in a project or business management role.
• Understanding and experience in Earn Value Management.
• Ability to work closely within teams and collaborate on planning and reporting requirements.
• Experience working with JIRA and Confluence.
• Previous exposure to engineering/hardware or software environments (preferred).
• Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams while managing sub‑contractors, consultants and suppliers.
