Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure (Northern NSW)

About the role

Our client, a specialist civil contractor operating across Northern New South Wales and Far North Queensland, is seeking a Project Manager to take over a high‑profile geotechnical project with seven to eight months remaining. Reporting directly to the Company Director, you will lead the delivery of a major joint‑venture venture, ensuring safety, schedule, quality and commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of a major joint‑venture geotechnical project.
• Develop, maintain and submit accurate project programmes using Microsoft Project.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with joint‑venture partners, clients and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate resources to meet programme, safety, quality and commercial objectives.
• Monitor budgets, forecast costs, and manage productivity.
• Prepare progress claims, reports and contractual documentation.
• Identify risks and implement practical mitigation strategies.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier performance and ensure contractual compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil or geotechnical construction, or a senior project engineer ready to step into a management role.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to manage budgets and contracts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands‑on leadership style, comfortable on‑site and in planning meetings.
