Project / Design Leader – Building Engineering

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project / Design Leader to head multidisciplinary building engineering projects, overseeing design and commercial delivery from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, multidisciplinary projects, coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Hydraulic and other engineering disciplines.
• Define scope, manage change, and ensure design solutions meet client requirements, programme and budget.
• Oversee design management activities, including technical input coordination, interface management and design reviews.
• Manage project delivery, financial performance, resourcing and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships, providing practical advice and resolving technical challenges.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in building engineering with a strong technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Hydraulic or related discipline.
• Relevant engineering qualification; Chartered status highly regarded.
• Proven experience in design management, project management and commercial/contract management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
