Project Controller

About the role

The Project Controller supports the delivery of complex maritime projects by providing cost control, analysis, and reporting within an Earned Value Management environment. You will work closely with Project Managers, Finance, Engineering, and Operations to ensure projects stay within budget and meet financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Review estimated costs and analyse cost performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare cost budget packs, develop Cost Breakdown Structures, and maintain accurate cost forecasts.
• Support reporting on actuals vs. budget, variance analysis, and KPI tracking.
• Collaborate with Finance and stakeholders to align budgets with financial objectives and ensure compliance with internal policies and contract terms.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cost control processes and promote sound cost management practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in cost control, project controls or financial analysis in a project‑based environment.
• Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or reporting tools such as SAP, IFS or Power BI.
• Knowledge of cost management principles, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, preferably within an Earned Value Management System.
