Production Planning Assistant

About the role

The Production Planning Assistant will support the mechanical production team through hands‑on experience in assembly, machine shop, planning and document control. This entry‑level position offers growth opportunities in production management and supply/demand planning.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain document control processes for SOPs, maintenance registers, training documents and other production records.
• Support daily planning activities, produce shop packets and picking reports, and close discrete jobs for finalisation.
• Raise requisitions for production expenses, consumables and components, and follow them through purchasing.
• Assist with LEAN projects, maintain key production equipment, and support cell cycle counting.
• Organise inventory in the Smart Cabinet for CNCs and help with mechanical assembly or machine‑shop tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Manufacturing or mechanical background with a fitting/machining trade qualification.
• Strong mechanical reasoning, problem‑solving attitude and willingness to work on machines.
• Excellent communication, analytical skills and a customer‑service mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
