Production Manager - Mission Module

About the role

Rheinmetall is looking for a Production Manager for its Mission Module team, based full time on a tour of the Military Vehicle of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. The manager leads a team of mechanics, electricians and trade assistants, which is part of the wider Production team including painters, welders, the prototype shop, the armour shop and the logistic systems team. Reporting to the Head of Production, the role is accountable for delivering production orders safely, efficiently and in line with the production schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient and process-aligned delivery of production orders in line with the production schedule
• Ensure production meets high standards of safety, quality, cost and schedule to support vehicle build milestones
• Work with Engineering, Warehousing/Supply Chain, Production Engineering, Assembly, Paint and Program Management to optimise performance through lean principles
• Resolve operational challenges and align with program priorities and customer requirements
• Contribute to strategic planning as a member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and deliver mission modules to internal and external customers on time and to build state requirements

Required profile

• Trade or tertiary qualification in mechanical, electrical or armament system maintenance or a related technical discipline
• Proven experience in production or operations leadership within the defence industry
• Ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource planning
• Experience managing complex weapon or weapons system projects and their resources, including suppliers and multiple service providers
• Proven experience managing a team to produce, maintain and repair
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government security clearance (Australian citizenship required)
