Private Tax Manager – Melbourne

About the role

Join Deloitte’s Private Tax team in Melbourne as a Tax Manager, providing strategic tax advice to some of Australia’s most prominent privately‑owned businesses, family groups and high‑net‑worth individuals. You will lead a high‑performing team, mentor junior staff and work closely with partners to shape the practice’s direction.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on income‑tax matters including structuring, restructuring, asset protection, estate and succession planning.
• Manage tax controversy, governance issues and complex domestic and cross‑border transactions.
• Support Australian inbound investment and outbound investments across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
• Oversee clients’ tax compliance, periodic reporting to the Australian Taxation Office and provision of tax balances for financial reporting.
• Lead, delegate and develop the team while maintaining high quality and client satisfaction.

• Proven leadership experience with the ability to delegate and mentor a team.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Australian income tax law and private‑client tax structures.
