Principal Traffic & Transport Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Principal Traffic & Transport Engineer to lead technical delivery on complex, multidisciplinary transport infrastructure projects across NSW and the broader ANZ region. You will mentor junior staff, shape client solutions and contribute to winning future work.

Key responsibilities

• Solve complex technical challenges on transport and infrastructure projects, including impact assessments and road safety assessments.
• Coach and mentor professionals and graduates, fostering technical growth.
• Collaborate with clients to define solutions and ensure high‑quality project outcomes.
• Manage project delivery to meet quality, efficiency and result targets.
• Support business development activities, including planning pursuits and strengthening client relationships.

Required profile

• Degree in Transport or Traffic Engineering (or related field) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership delivering Transport Impact Assessments and Road Safety Assessments under TfNSW guidelines.
• Strong local industry network and excellent communication skills.
• Interest in mentoring junior staff and contributing to team growth.
