Principal Project Officer - Flexible

About the role
The Principal Project Officer will lead the delivery of transformational system design projects within the commissioning portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, the role drives innovation, facilitates design processes and champions positive disruption to improve outcomes for vulnerable Queenslanders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee core system design projects, ensuring alignment with organisational and government priorities.
- Provide guidance and support to the Senior Project Officer on smaller, discrete projects.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Projects team to deliver the transformational commissioning programme.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and promote innovative practices across the commissioning function.
- Monitor project performance, risks and benefits, delivering regular updates to senior leadership.
Required profile
- Proven experience in leading complex projects, preferably in a public‑sector or government environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high‑performing team.
