Principal Project Manager – North Queensland

About the role

AECOM’s Transport Team in North Queensland is seeking a senior leader to manage complex highway projects, including the Bruce Highway program. The role will be based in Cairns (or other regional offices) and involves client‑facing leadership, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery for large‑scale infrastructure works, ensuring schedule, budget and financial performance.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary design teams to drive project outcomes.
• Oversee coordination of design, construction and delivery activities across multiple sites.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in design and project management, preferably in road infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage multiple or large, complex projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Road design expertise (TMR experience preferred).
• Project management methodologies and tools.
