Site Manager

About the role

BESIX Watpac is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join its Queensland construction team in Cairns. You will lead on‑site construction teams, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive safety, environmental and quality policies in line with OH&S legislation and company standards.
• Coordinate all on‑site and off‑site construction activities, managing issues that affect site efficiency.
• Program and schedule subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries, keeping the Project Manager updated daily.
• Lead meetings with subcontractors, suppliers and the design team to monitor progress and work practices.
• Ensure construction complies with contract documents, local authority requirements and relevant standards, including managing practical completion defects.

Required profile

• Strong building experience with a proven track record delivering large, complex projects as a Site Manager.
• Degree/Diploma in building/construction or a recognised tertiary/trade qualification in a construction‑related field.
• Sound leadership, communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to deliver results under high pressure and maintain a professional work ethic.
