Senior Civil Engineer – Transport Projects

About the role

AECOM’s Cairns office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Transport team. You will work on high‑profile infrastructure projects such as the Cairns Ring Road and other State Government initiatives, applying your engineering and analytical expertise to deliver transport solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering solutions for transport and civil infrastructure projects across the region.
• Manage project timelines, stakeholder relationships, and deliverables throughout the civil engineering lifecycle.
• Collaborate with a national network of engineers and designers while based in the Far North Queensland office.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or similar) with RPEQ & CPEng accreditation or working towards it.
• Proven experience managing civil engineering projects, preferably in consulting or government sectors.
• Knowledge of Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects and pipelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with transport‑related modelling software such as SIDRA.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Experience in transport planning is highly regarded.
