Principal Electrical Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in Sydney to deliver large‑scale pumping stations, treatment plants and related systems across ANZ. The Principal Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical design and engineering of water and wastewater projects, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including instrumentation, power distribution, control and communications for water and wastewater facilities.
• Conduct technical studies, modelling and computational analysis to support design decisions.
• Prepare cost estimates, drafting packages and detailed design documentation.
• Lead proposal development, design schedules, budgets and commercial submissions for external clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and CPEng registration.
• Proven experience on municipal water and/or wastewater projects.
• Background in a dynamic consulting and design environment, working with industrial electrical, instrument and control systems.
