Pre Contracts, Bids & Commercial Manager

About the role

The Pre Contracts, Bids & Commercial Manager will build and lead a disciplined front‑end commercial capability for Genus Services. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, the role works across strategy, operations, estimating, finance, legal and business development to ensure tender governance, commercial discipline and contract risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑contracts, bid and tender governance across the business.
• Develop bid strategies, capture plans and customer positioning.
• Establish bid/no‑bid disciplines, review processes and approval frameworks.
• Facilitate tender kick‑off meetings, review sessions and submission governance.
• Review estimating assumptions, pricing models and commercial positions.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial, contractual and delivery risks before award.
• Support contract negotiations and risk mitigation strategies.
• Improve bid‑to‑delivery handover and commercial governance.
• Build systems, templates, bid libraries and governance processes to support growth.

Required profile

• Significant experience in pre‑contracts, bid leadership, commercial management, tendering or contracts management within a contractor services environment.
• Background in utilities, telecommunications, energy, infrastructure services, asset management, environmental services or construction.
