Pool Lifeguard - Capricorn Coast

About the role

PCYC Capricorn Coast is seeking a responsible and energetic Pool Lifeguard for its Aquatic Centre. The role ensures the safety and well-being of pool patrons through vigilant supervision, incident prevention and swift response to emergencies, while supporting a positive customer experience and promoting safe aquatic practices. Multiple positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain vigilant supervision of all aquatic facility users
• Prevent incidents and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies
• Support a positive customer experience through professional conduct and clear communication
• Promote safe aquatic practices

Required profile

• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Experience in a similar role is highly desirable
• A Pool Plant Operators Certificate and a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate are highly desirable but not essential
• Working With Children Check (Blue Card) is required; a National Police Check is completed on commencement

Required skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
• Ability to stay calm and make clear decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations
• Ability to stay focused during shifts and spot early signs of distress or rule violations
