Permanent Part-Time Cook - Qantas Lounge

About the role

A Qantas Lounge operated by Accor in Brisbane is looking for a permanent part-time cook to provide high-quality customer service to lounge passengers. The cook serves between the a la carte and buffet areas and reports directly to the Executive Chef. The role suits someone studying cookery who wants kitchen experience, or an experienced cook looking for extra hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, showing variety and flair
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
• Assist with ingredient preparation, including chopping, slicing, dicing and measuring
• Follow food safety protocols and keep working areas clean and tidy
• Wash all dishes during service and maintain, service and clean equipment
• Report any problems to the CDP and General Manager

Required profile

• Proven experience as a cook in a high-volume kitchen
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to pass a federal police background security check (at own cost, reimbursed once approved)
