Payroll Specialist

About the role

AlayaCare is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end‑to‑end Australian payroll and gradually gain exposure to global payroll operations. This full‑time, permanent position is based in Sydney CBD with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Process fortnightly Australian payroll, including new starters, terminations, leave, overtime, allowances and deductions.
• Maintain compliance with PAYG, superannuation, STP and workers’ compensation requirements.
• Work across two ADP instances, reconcile payroll data and journals, and perform manual validation checks each cycle.
• Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance and the global payroll team, handling employee queries and supporting month‑end and audit activities.

Required profile

• Hands‑on Australian payroll experience (STP, PAYG, super) – essential.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously while meeting deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑driven and eager to expand payroll knowledge to other jurisdictions.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems – a bonus.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and interest in using AI tools for efficiency.
