About the role
The Patient Access Officer provides front‑ and back‑desk administrative support at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, ensuring a smooth and patient‑centred experience from appointment booking to checkout.
Key responsibilities
- Greet and check‑in patients, complete registration and documentation, and collect fees.
- Handle inbound calls for booking, rescheduling, emergency triage and enquiries; make outbound calls as needed.
- Book interpreters, respond to email/web‑chat queries and provide ad‑hoc administrative support to clinicians.
- Resolve customer complaints efficiently, escalating when required.
Required profile
- Experience in health administration or front‑desk roles.
- Strong customer service and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and effective time‑management.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and general computer literacy.
