Part‑time AML/CTF Compliance Officer (MLRO) – Australia

About the role

Daftcode is seeking a part‑time AML/CTF Compliance Officer to act as the Money‑Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for its crypto portfolio company in Australia. The role is fully remote but requires the officer to be an Australian resident and to meet AUSTRAC’s fit‑and‑proper criteria.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the appointed AML/CTF Compliance Officer under the AML/CTF Act 2006 and related rules.
• Manage AUSTRAC enrolment, registration, and ongoing reporting obligations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate money‑laundering, terrorism financing, and fraud risks across the business.
• Develop, implement, and maintain AML/CTF policies and keep the central policy repository up to date.
• Oversee customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and the preparation of statutory reports (SMRs, TTRs, Travel Rule compliance).
• Report annually to the governing body and act as the primary liaison with AUSTRAC and partner banks.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience as an AML/CTF Compliance Officer or MLRO, preferably in fintech, banking, payments or crypto.
• Australian residency and ability to be appointed at management level.
• University degree in Finance, Law or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
