Part-Time Tax Agent / Tax Professional

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Part‑Time Tax Agent to join our Melbourne team. The role offers flexible hours while delivering high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge company, trust, and partnership tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and meet all filing deadlines.
• Review client financial records to identify tax optimisation opportunities.
• Gather information from the finance team and communicate tax outcomes.
• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office on client matters.
• Stay current with tax legislation and regulatory changes.
• Assist with BAS/IAS preparation when required.

Required profile

• Registered Tax Agent.
• 2–5 years of experience in public practice or a comparable commercial role.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Membership with a professional body such as CPA, CA or IPA.
• Experience in property or infrastructure projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting/tax software, preferably Xero.
