Part-Time Marketing Manager

About the role

Saward Dawson, an accounting firm serving not-for-profits and family businesses, is looking for a part-time Marketing Manager. The role suits a confident, experienced marketer seeking a strategic leadership position. The manager leads a small, dedicated team and oversees sponsorship, branding, communications and marketing, helping the firm grow its profile with events, digital marketing and ongoing communications.

The Marketing Manager supervises two part-time direct reports: a Content Coordinator (content creation) and a Graphic Designer (design, video production and website updates). The position is based in the office in Blackburn, with hours negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall editorial direction for ongoing communications and oversee the performance of communications channels
• Help the team adopt a marketing strategy focused on brand awareness and inbound leads, and coach and mentor the team
• Work with the marketing team and professional accounting staff to build marketing and business development skills and support high-quality pitch materials
• Monitor and analyse content performance to make data-driven improvements

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Marketing, Communications, Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Experience in marketing/communications, preferably in professional services; candidates with finance or accounting experience looking to move into marketing are also considered
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
• Leadership skills and the ability to explain financial concepts clearly
• Ability to work independently, manage several projects at once and handle time and organisation well

Required skills

• Familiarity with digital marketing principles and best practices
• Experience with social media platforms and content marketing tools
• Strong research skills and good communication skills
