Part-Time Demi Chef (12-Month Maternity Leave Coverage)

About the role
Novotel Sydney Darling Square, located in Sydney's CBD near Darling Harbour, Darling Square and the ICC precinct, is looking for a Demi Chef on a part-time basis to cover a 12-month maternity leave. You will work alongside the Head Chef and assist the culinary team across the kitchen and related outlets, from buffet breakfast to the Pumphouse Bar, restaurant and in-room dining.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Chef de Partie and senior culinary team during service
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Ensure stock is rotated, stored and labelled correctly
Required profile
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Adaptable and able to work in a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Passion for cooking and developing culinary skills
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills
- Full working rights in Australia
