Out of Hours Salaried GP

About the role

The Out of Hours (OOH) Salaried GP position is based in Inverness within the East Highland Area. You will join a dedicated OOH team delivering urgent and palliative care to patients outside normal working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical assessment and treatment for patients during evenings, weekends and on-call periods.
• Collaborate with Advanced Nurse Practitioners, District Nurses and other health professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Manage acute presentations, chronic condition reviews and end‑of‑life care in the OOH setting.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to NHS clinical governance standards.

Required profile

• Fully qualified General Practitioner with a current licence to practise in the UK.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Clinical decision‑making in urgent care environments.
• Proficiency with NHS electronic health record systems.
