Officer - IT Field Support

About the role

Mount Isa Mines, one of the world's largest mining complexes, is looking for an Officer - IS&T Field Support to join its high-performing information systems and technology team. Reporting to the Supervisor - Field Delivery, the role delivers hands-on technical support across site operations, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network and communication issues while supporting technology improvement initiatives. The position follows a residential 9-day fortnight roster with every second Friday off.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote support for computer hardware, software, mobile devices and printers
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, network and infrastructure-related incidents
• Monitor and manage support tickets so service level agreements are met
• Act as the primary IS&T point of contact for operational and business stakeholders
• Support meeting room technology, audiovisual equipment, telephony and radio systems
• Coordinate with vendors and specialist teams to resolve technical issues
• Assist with infrastructure maintenance, system upgrades and technology projects
• Maintain IT asset lifecycle activities, including deployment, relocation and disposal
• Contribute to business continuity, disaster recovery and major incident response
• Identify and implement improvements to customer service and technology performance

Required profile

• Experience supporting desktop and infrastructure environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities and build stakeholder relationships
• Proactive mindset, commitment to customer service and a passion for technology
• Current Manual C Class driver's licence
• Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Information Technology (highly regarded)

Required skills

• Relevant Microsoft, networking or IT industry certifications (desirable)
• Hands-on troubleshooting of hardware, software and network issues
