IT Systems Engineer

About the role

Mount Isa Mines, part of Glencore's mining portfolio and one of Australia's largest copper producers, is looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join its Information Systems & Technology department. Working in the Operational Support team, you will support enterprise systems such as the desktop standard operating environment, IT Compliance and IT/OT Business Projects. The role is residential in Mount Isa on a 9-day fortnight roster with an on-call duty.

Key responsibilities

• Support IT/OT convergence and security standards, and manage security incident response
• Support IT business project scoping and implementation
• Configure, monitor and support MECM
• Manage physical and VDI endpoints
• Pack, test, deploy and report on operating systems, applications and updates, including post-build support
• Ensure compliance with Glencore IS&T security policies, including patching and vulnerability management
• Handle escalations and guide Service Desk and Field Support teams
• Drive continuous improvement of desktop hardware management

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Extensive experience with IT/OT support, design and development of IT/OT architecture, project roadmaps and workflows
• Experience implementing IT/OT standards and best practices across site
• Demonstrated experience with security incident management
• Able to communicate and troubleshoot with all levels of staff, and a self-driven team player with strong customer service skills

Required skills

• SCCM/MECM in an enterprise environment supporting Windows 11
• Change control for system deployment and release
• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Power BI, VMware, Office 365 and cloud platforms
