New Business Sales Specialist - Defence

About the role

Marand, an Australian advanced manufacturing business serving the defence, aerospace and emerging technology sectors, is hiring a New Business Sales Specialist in Moorabbin. Reporting to the Head of New Business, you will help secure future opportunities in defence and advanced manufacturing by supporting winning bids, proposals and customer solutions, while building technical, commercial and business development expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and delivery of bids, tenders, proposals and customer submissions.
• Work with engineering, projects, commercial and sales teams to develop tailored customer solutions.
• Research and identify new business opportunities in defence and advanced manufacturing markets.
• Maintain bid libraries, proposal templates and sales materials.
• Track opportunities through the sales pipeline and keep CRM records accurate.
• Report regularly on pipeline activity, bid status, sales performance and forecast revenue.
• Attend industry events, networking functions and trade shows.
• Contribute to improvements to proposal quality and sales effectiveness.

Required profile

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial or technical environments.
• Exposure to sales, business development, account management and/or bid preparation.
• Interest in defence, advanced manufacturing and complex technical solutions.
• Able to obtain Australian Defence security clearance; Australian citizenship and ITAR/EAR compliance may be required.
• Police check, defence clearance and random drug and alcohol screening may be required.

Required skills

• Strong written communication and ability to write professional proposals and presentations.
• Organisation, stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
