Network Administrator

About the role

Sevenoaks Senior College is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to oversee its entire network environment. This permanent, full‑time position starts in Term 3, 2026 and focuses on reliability, cybersecurity, and system administration within a dynamic educational setting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the college’s network infrastructure end‑to‑end.
• Implement and monitor risk‑management measures, including data security, system backups, and disaster‑recovery protocols.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate new IT resources to enhance system performance.
• Configure and deploy hardware, Windows servers, and virtual machines.
• Improve the college’s cybersecurity posture and develop strategies for emerging technologies.
• Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve network issues promptly.
• Lead the planning, renewal, and asset management of all IT‑related infrastructure.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networking components.
• Ability to configure Windows servers and virtual environments.
• Working knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) is a plus.
