National Anti-Corruption Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner

About the role

The Australian Government is inviting applications for the senior leadership positions of National Anti‑Corruption Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner within the National Anti‑Corruption Commission (NACC). These roles lead an independent integrity agency tasked with investigating serious or systemic corruption across the Commonwealth public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the NACC’s investigative and reporting functions.
• Exercise coercive powers and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including other integrity agencies, Parliament, and the public.
• Promote public confidence in the integrity of the Commonwealth sector and advance corruption‑prevention standards.
• Travel between NACC offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth as required.

Required profile

• Retired Judge of a federal, state or territory court, or a legal practitioner with at least five years of enrolment.
• Demonstrated record of leadership and a strong commitment to integrity.
• Ability to manage complex investigations and lead senior teams.
