Mental Health Registered Nurse

About the role

Join the multidisciplinary team at Lavarack Health Centre as a full‑time Mental Health Registered Nurse, providing person‑centred mental health care to Australian Defence Force personnel. The position offers a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule with no night, weekend or public holiday work.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mental health intake assessments and risk evaluations.
• Support case formulation, evidence‑based treatment planning and care coordination for Defence members.
• Facilitate group psycho‑education sessions and ongoing mental health programmes.
• Deliver compassionate, person‑centred nursing care in a collaborative environment.

Required profile

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Credentialing with ACMHN or a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or recognised international equivalent).
• Minimum two years post‑graduate mental health experience, including delivery of focused psychological strategies.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) and recent CPD with at least 10 hours in mental health.

Required skills

• Familiarity with state/territory policies, national standards and the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy (preferred).
• Impeccable integrity, empathy and commitment to ethical, patient‑centred care.
