Member Support Officer - Legal - Perth

About the role

The Member Support Officer – Legal provides essential paralegal, administrative and case‑management assistance to Tribunal Members and Deputy Presidents. You will help ensure Tribunal reviews progress efficiently, support hearing preparation, and may receive in‑hearing assistance when required. This hybrid, full‑time position also offers a supervised Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality paralegal and administrative support to Tribunal members.
• Manage case files and use case‑management systems to track progress.
• Assist with hearing preparation and provide in‑hearing support as needed.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth proceedings.
• Conduct online, legal, and policy research to support case work.

Required profile

• Proactive, organised, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly learn Tribunal operations, jurisdiction, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, initiative, and commitment to personal development.
• Well‑developed research capabilities for legal and policy matters.

Required skills

• Experience using case management systems.

What we offer

• Annual salary range APS4: $79,501 – $86,318 (AUD) plus 15.4% superannuation.
