Medical Receptionist

About the role

Avant Practice Solutions is seeking a compassionate, organised Medical Receptionist to join its Box Hill team. Working from the office with one day per week remote, you will be the first point of contact for patients, doctors and healthcare providers, ensuring smooth daily operations of multiple specialist practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, doctors and healthcare providers, handling around 80 calls per day with professionalism and empathy.
• Book, coordinate and manage appointments across a variety of specialist practices and maintain accurate patient records using cloud‑based systems.
• Liaise with patients, referrers, hospitals, specialists and other stakeholders to support efficient practice workflows.
• Process medical administration tasks and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, administration or medical reception (medical experience desirable but not essential).
• Exceptional communication skills with a warm, professional and empathetic phone manner.
• Strong organisational abilities, high attention to detail and the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Confidence using technology and quickly learning new systems.
• Experience with or ability to learn medical practice management software such as Gentu, Clinic to Cloud and similar cloud‑based platforms.
