Medical Receptionist – Defence Health Centre

About the role

We are looking for a personable Medical Receptionist to provide vital clerical and administrative support to clinical staff in a multidisciplinary defence health centre. The role is civilian, based onsite at Robertson and Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin, and contributes to the smooth operation of primary healthcare services for military personnel and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide fast, accurate, and professional clerical and administrative support to health staff and patients.
• Manage electronic and hard‑copy health records in line with Defence policies and privacy requirements.
• Coordinate appointments and liaise with internal and external health service providers.
• Prepare reports, update health and personnel management systems, and assist with auditing activities.
• Support daily clinic operations including filing, mail distribution, photocopying, ordering stationery, and processing supply requests.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of full‑time (or part‑time equivalent) experience in a similar clerical or administrative role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
