Material Planning Analyst

About the role

The Material Planning Analyst supports Newmont’s Australian operations by ensuring that the right materials are available for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities. Working at the intersection of Asset Management and Supply Chain, the role uses SAP MRP to validate demand, monitor supply risks and drive actions that keep maintenance schedules on track.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface between Asset Management and Supply Chain for maintenance‑related material requirements.
• Provide reporting and insights on material availability, supply risk and planning performance to support operational decisions.
• Participate in planning and scheduling meetings to understand upcoming work scopes and material demand, and coordinate actions to ensure material readiness.
• Review and manage SAP MRP outputs, validate maintenance demand, monitor exception messages and adjust planned orders to align material availability with operational needs.
• Identify potential supply risks and collaborate with site‑based maintenance, planning and supply chain teams to mitigate them.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
• Collaborative approach, able to work closely with maintenance, planning and supply chain stakeholders.
• Experience in material planning or inventory management within an industrial or mining environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP MRP for material requirement planning.
