Managing Principal – Corporate & Commercial

About the role

Marsh is seeking a Managing Principal to lead its Corporate & Commercial team in Townsville. This hybrid role requires at least three days per week in the office and focuses on driving growth and client excellence across the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring exceptional client service and long‑term relationships.
• Lead, develop and manage a team of Senior Account Executives, Account Executives and support staff.
• Drive achievement of business plans, revenue targets and profit objectives while maintaining strict budget control.
• Oversee renewal and broking strategies, claims management and client retention initiatives.
• Collaborate with insurers and leverage Marsh’s national and global resources to maximise client value.

Required profile

• Professional accreditation such as Tier 1 FSRA Compliance, Associate membership of The Institute and Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (NIBA).
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, relevant legislation and industry best practices.
• Proven experience managing key accounts and leading high‑performing teams in insurance or financial services.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, problem‑solving and delegation skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of insurance contracts, the Insurance Contracts Act and Trade Practices Act.
• Ability to innovate processes and improve client outcomes.
