Manager Stakeholder & Community Engagement

About the role

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across complex stakeholder environments and can balance strategic planning with hands‑on delivery. You will support the Stakeholder and Community Involvement Plan, contribute to the corporate calendar and ensure engagement activities are coordinated, well‑planned and aligned to Metro Trains Sydney’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a 12‑month calendar of stakeholder and community engagement initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
• Identify, manage and respond to stakeholder and community issues proactively and consistently.
• Act as the primary connection point between Metro Trains Sydney and community stakeholders, attending precinct meetings and nurturing relationships.
• Maintain and update stakeholder registers to support effective relationship management and planning.
• Coordinate community events, customer activations at stations, stakeholder briefings and site visits.
• Produce clear communication materials such as presentations, briefing content and stakeholder updates.
• Ensure consistency of messaging through master presentation materials and support external presentations.
• Assist the Corporate Affairs team with content development, media issues, incident management and on‑call duties as needed.

Required profile

• Experienced stakeholder engagement or communications professional with a proven ability to build trusted relationships across complex environments.
• Strong judgement and the capacity to manage emerging community issues proactively.
