Manager / Senior Manager – Partner Tax Affairs

About the role

Horizon Nexus Partners is creating a brand‑new function to support its partners’ tax affairs. As the Manager or Senior Manager – Partner Tax Affairs you will be the primary tax adviser for partners, shaping processes, delivering proactive advice and ensuring seamless compliance across the year.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of partner tax affairs, including individual income tax returns, PAYG instalments and related compliance.
• Serve as the trusted point of contact for partners, providing practical, commercial tax advice on complex matters.
• Collaborate with Finance, Payroll and People & Culture to ensure correct tax treatment of remuneration, distributions and benefits.
• Lead annual tax planning activities and deliver proactive advice throughout the financial year.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assess impact on partnership and equity structures and communicate implications.
• Prepare and deliver tax briefings and onboarding sessions for new and existing partners.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and the overall partner tax experience.

Required profile

• Technically strong tax professional with a passion for building trusted relationships.
• Significant experience in Australian taxation, preferably within a professional services or partnership environment.
• CA or CPA qualification (essential).
• Deep knowledge of partnership taxation, trust structures and individual tax matters.
• Ability to simplify complex tax issues for senior stakeholders.
