Manager Financial Control and Accounting Services

About the role

nbn is looking for a Manager Financial Control and Accounting Services to lead financial control, governance and accounting across its Capital Programs portfolio. The role reports to the Executive Manager Financial Control and Accounting Services and works closely with Commercial Finance, Project Delivery and the wider Finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure financial outcomes are accurately reflected in management reporting, forecasting and statutory reporting processes.
• Maintain a strong control environment and accounting integrity throughout the capital program lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Commercial Finance, Fixed Asset Accounting and outsourced service providers to drive continuous improvement and strengthen governance.
• Support informed decision-making, performance assessment and investment outcomes across the business.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified accountant, finance transformation specialist or equivalent.
• Experience managing both financial and operational outcomes in a large and complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and their application in modern finance and accounting environments.
• Experience working across large teams and shared service models.
• Collaborative, influential and able to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical, adaptable and focused on continuous improvement and governance excellence.
• Full working rights in Australia; the role is permanent and applications close at midnight on 1 November.
