Manager Community Engagement

About the role

Icon Water is seeking a Manager Community Engagement to lead the team responsible for shaping how the organisation engages with customers, communities and stakeholders across Canberra. The role involves building trust, strengthening relationships and ensuring ongoing community engagement across operational delivery and major infrastructure programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of community engagement frameworks, programs and governance approaches.
• Provide strategic advice on stakeholder management, community sentiment and reputation.
• Partner with organisational leaders to deliver consistent, contemporary engagement across major projects and community education initiatives.
• Design, deliver and lead engagement activities associated with significant projects and organisational initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder engagement or strategic communications.
• Strong stakeholder management, consultation and influencing capability.
• Experience leading and developing professional teams.
• Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, social sciences or related discipline.

Required skills

• IAP2, Engagement Institute or equivalent engagement certification.
